Kananga water became known in Jamaica and the Caribbean in the 19th century, after the British colony established enormous Kananga plantations. Kananga Water is built on a foundation of Cananga odorata essential oil, also known as Ylang Ylang. It is an alcohol-based cologne.
Kananga water is mainly used to stimulate sexuality and to attract love and happiness. The aroma is delicate and floral. It evokes thoughts of joy and traditionally affects the mood.
